Before the beginning of what is now Marine Conservation Cambodia, the founding members from the team where actively trying to bring attention to the beauty of Cambodia's marine environment, One way that was seen to help stop the destruction, was to highlight the oppertunitys for scuba diving in Cambodia. At the time little was known about how much Cambodia had to offer, if you were to look on the internet you would find articles about how bad the diving was here, how it was'nt worth even going scuba diving in Cambodia. Without a strong diving industry to highlight the plight of Cambodia's marine environment it was hard to get publicity and support from a wide community.
Paul Ferber, Founder of Marine Conservation Cambodia sent an invitation to Sol Foo editor of Asian Diver magazine this was the first step in putting Cambodia on the map as a top diving destination. The article was also published in magazines around Europe.
